Spring Musical Auditions/Producers Needed

All 4th & 5th graders are encouraged to participate in Wagner Ranch's annual spring musical!
Any student that auditions is guaranteed in a role in the production.

Actor auditions will be held Monday, October 12th, 12:30-3:30pm (not 2-5pm as previously printed).
Register for an audition on the Wagner Ranch 4th/5th grade play website.  The production and cast will be announced Friday, December 18th.

We still need two parents to co-produce the production alongside our incredible director, Mr. Ron Pickett.  If we do not have producers, we cannot have a production!

  • Our Wagner Ranch teachers and staff do so much for us - we can't thank them enough! So this year, we are pilot testing adding smaller/very manageable doses of appreciation throughout the year, starting in the FALL trimester, while keeping the tradition of celebrating BIG during Teacher Appreciation Week (in May). And we need your help!

The Fall Trimester teacher and staff appreciation event theme is "WR TEACHERS AND STAFF FILL OUR BUCKETS!" It is inspired by the book "Have You Filled a Bucket Today? A Guide to Daily Happiness for Kids" by Carol McCloud. In the spirit of filling our teachers’ and staff's buckets, we are asking you and your child(ren) to express your gratitude on "paper buckets." In your child's Friday Folder on 11/13, there is a sheet of construction paper with two printed blank buckets, along with instructions - please make copies for additional teachers and staff (construction paper is better but regular paper would still work). Alternatively, a digital (PDF) copy of blank buckets is provided here [LINK TO BLANK PDF] for you to print for additional tributes to WR teachers and staff.

At home, please: (1) write/draw/decorate the buckets with your/your child's words of appreciation for WR teachers and staff (using one bucket for each teacher/staff), (2) cut out the buckets, and (3) return completed buckets in Friday Folder on either Monday 11/16 or Monday 11/30. Two examples are provided here [LINK TO EXAMPLE PDF]. Can't decide whose buckets to fill? Consider WR teachers and staff who fill your and your child(ren)'s buckets - for starters, the teacher and aide in your child's classroom. Please see pages 4 & 5 of the Wagner Ranch Directory for names of WR teachers and staff, including Principal Manheimer.

Once all "filled" paper buckets are collected after the Thanksgiving holiday, Room Parents and volunteers will hang/tape these paper buckets in the classrooms (and throughout the school) for everyone to appreciate throughout the weeks leading up to the Winter Break.
  • Wellness and Healthy Food
We welcome parents to participate in a conversation about food and wellness in the classroom.

  • Crayola Color Cycle
Crayola and schools across North America have banded together to help kids understand the importance of their role in protecting the environment. That's why we launched Crayola ColorCycle. Through this initiative, students in K-12 schools across the continental United States and parts of Canada can collect used markers and send them to a conversion facility where they will be transformed into clean-burning fuel. Learn more about how you can participate by clicking here for the color cycle website. A collection box will be set up in the school office and in the classroom as well.

  • Volunteer Opportunities for 2015-2016 School Year -  It really does take a ranch to keep the school running. Please contact Angel Sorenson if you're interested or would just like to learn more about a position. Available positions include: Rancher E-news Editor, Yearbook Co-Editor, 4th/5th Grade Play Producers, Room Parents.  Angel will be at Jumpstart so come say 'hello'!

       General Reminders

  • Don't forget to fund your child's Hot Lunch MealTime Accounts!  If you are a new family or just never got around to setting up a MealTime account last year, now is the time.  Sign up is simple, but you will need your child's student ID number (this will be provided at Jumpstart).  For detailed instructions, click here.
