COVID-19 Protocols and Procedures

PLEASE NOTE: Our intention is to run Bandit Club to the full extent in the 2021-22 school year but given the uncertainty caused by COVID-19 and potential restrictions enacted by the California Dept. of Public Health or Contra Costa County Public Health Services in response to rising cases, we are subject to change. If we are required to adjust the BASC program offerings, all families will be notified.

Face coverings for children and Bandit Staff are required when indoors. Children and Bandit Staff are not required to wear masks when outside according to Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), State of California, and Contra Costa County Public Health. However, employees and children can choose to keep their face coverings on when outside they should so desire.

Should your child display any of the COVID-19 symptoms such as:

• Fever of 100.4 F or higher
• Dry cough
• Shortness of breath
• Chills
• Sore throat
• Muscle aches
• Nausea or vomiting

we will ask that your child stays at home. Please view the COVID-19 Decision Tree for New Symptoms for clarification.

Note: While we understand that many of these symptoms can also be related to non-COVID issues, we must proceed with an abundance of caution.

We know that hearing about COVID-19 cases at Bandit and on campus can be very stressful. Here are the communication protocols when we are notified of a COVID-19 case.

  • Should a positive case occur at Bandit Club, Wagner Ranch Administration as well as the Orinda Union District Office will be notified and the school will conduct contact tracing.
  • Parents of students identified as a close contact (within 6 feet for 15 minutes or longer within 24 hours) are immediately notified by a phone call followed by a letter explaining quarantine protocols. You can review the CCCHS COVID Close Contact Steps to identify tracing steps.
  • All families of students that attended Bandit during the timeframe are sent a letter via email notifying them of the case.
